The New Cup of Intercession

The New Cup of Intercession

Recently I received a revelational encounter while before the throne of God in heaven which was tied together with a 2002 revelation. In 2002, I was before the throne and nations were being summoned to appear. I watched as all the believers who are with the Lord from the United States came before the throne. A wave of light and sound came from the Lord which carried direct communication from the Father to all who were assembled. His original intention was bound up in this communication concerning the United States. The wave swept across the crowd and then across me as I watched from the back. The Lord was standing to my right, so I asked Him what it would take for the Father’s original intent to be restored to our nation. Turning toward me, the Lord stated, “Sound discipline has been decreed unto your nation.” While this is not a complete rendering of the 2002 encounter, Israel was the next nation summoned. When the wave of light and sound bearing the Father’s original intent reached me in the back, I asked the Lord what it would take to bring Israel back to this. The Lord answered, “Severe chastisement was decreed for the nation.” Later, the Lord would define a part of His chastisement as a coming war in which much of Israel will be overrun unless they turn their hearts to Jesus Christ as Lord!

I have briefly stated the 2002 encounter in order to speak of the July 2012 encounter. Ten years and a few months have passed between these two encounters, but little has changed in our nation, spiritually speaking, if we honestly look at the body of Christ.

In the recent encounter the same two nations as before were shown to me, but this time the Lord showed me two cups. The cup in His right hand was His cup of judgment while the cup in His left hand was the cup of intercession. The cup of judgment was full, to the point of overflowing, while the cup of our intercession was mostly empty. The Lord then began to speak about why the cup of intercession was mostly empty. The Lord stated that much, not all, of our intercession was us praying our own minds and wills. He then quoted James 4:3 to me, stating that we are asking with wrong motives.

James 4:3
You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

We ask for Him to spare our nation’s systems, cities, people etc. without understanding that which is His motivation. He then stated that He is NOT listening to our self-centered protecting intercession. He told me that if the cup of intercession had been equally full as the cup of judgment then we would have a revolution in the body of Christ in our nation. But since it’s not, there’s delay if God’s spiritual purposes and plans for our nation. Similarly, He stated that we are not praying His mind when we pray these kinds of prayers for Israel. He then stated that our intercession must firstly be for people’s hearts to fully turn to Him and believe and receive Him as our only true eternal hope, deliverance, and salvation. Paul writes in Romans 10:1-2 that His prayer for Israel is their salvation. This is intercession 101. There simply isn’t anything more important than all of us turning to the Lord fully, especially the peoples of the nations, including the United States and Israel, who have not believed and received Christ as Lord! I leave us with this scripture and challenge to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us into His intercession.
Romans 8:26-27
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
